In order to speed up the balanced development of mechanization of agricultural activities, it is necessary to educate the farmers about the newly developed agricultural machinery. This leads to the adoption of newly developed machines. Farmers can be imparted knowledge on proper selection, proper use and adoption of new machinery.
Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY)- Crop Diversification Programme Component: (Farm Mechanization and Value Addition Component):To create sustainability in shifting rice area to alternative crops, agricultural mechanization is very important. Keeping this in mind, agricultural machinery approved by the Government of India in coordination with the State Government may be provided to the farmers of the State on subsidy.
Promotion of Agricultural Mechanization under RKVY:This program replaces the promotion of farm mechanization program which was implemented under Macro Management Work Plan (MMWP) till now. Under this program farmers are provided financial assistance for purchase of automatic/semi-automatic newly developed agricultural machinery.
Establishment of Service for Agriculture Machinery:I. Ensuring timely cultivation practices without interruption from seed bed preparation to harvest.
II. To reduce migration of rural youth to urban areas by creating employment opportunities.
The use of modern agricultural mechanization tools is essential to provide timely food to the growing population. Through this scheme, these modern agricultural mechanization tools can be provided to small marginal farmers and other farmers as well.
The scheme is very useful to increase farm mechanization for small and marginal farmers to improve farm power.
Scheme for Trainings & Demonstration on advanced Agricultural Machinery:Through this scheme, training programs will be conducted to unemployed youth women and farmers on the use and performance of modern farm mechanization machines and tools. In coordination with National Institute of Skill Development, farmers are made aware of the technology used in agriculture in other states.
